The State Cabinet yesterday approved a draft decision of the Minister of Economy and Commerce to amend some provisions of Decision No. 3 of 1992 regulating the work of sales brokers at the central fruits and vegetable market.

According to the amendment, the condition that the licenced broker should have a space in the market has been cancelled, to encourage their work and promote competition.

The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet's ordinary meeting at the Emiri Diwan.

The Cabinet reviewed the speech of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the 45th ordinary session of the Advisory Council as a clear roadmap to achieve the goals of the coming period.

The cabinet reviewed Qatar's second National Development Strategy 2017-2022 included in the speech which requires transforming the consumerist culture and dealing with wealth.

The Prime Minister directed all involved in the work to implement the directives of the Emir by preparing plans and programmes while coordinating with other ministries.

The Cabinet also condemned the firing of ballistic missiles by Houthi militias targeting Makka, saying it was a serious provocation to Muslims around the world.

The act also undermined efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis peacefully, the Cabinet added. It also reiterated Qatar's position of supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts to regain peace and stability in Yemen.

The Cabinet approved a draft Emiri decision to amend some provisions of Emiri decision no. 19 of 2011 to establish a permanent water resources committee.

It also approved amendments in some provisions of law no. 3 of 2003 on establishing a permanent committee on managing the Abu Samra port. The provision involves adding a representative of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

The Cabinet approve a draft decision by the Minister of Economy and Transport on Qatar's internet exchange point. A committee charged with internet exchange point should be formed and under the Communications Regulatory Authority. The committee should be chaired by a representative of the authority.
