Amman, Aug 22 (Petra) -- Jordan's budget deficit stood at JOD291.2 million after foreign aid by the end of the first half of the current year, compared with JOD22.5 million in the same period of 2015, according to official data.

Excluding foreign assistance, the budget deficit would stand at JOD532 million compared with JOD518 million in the corresponding period of 2015, the Ministry of Finance said in a report published on Monday.

The total value of domestic revenues and foreign grants amounted to JOD3.528 billion, up from JOD3.349 billion in the same period last year. The report also indicated that foreign assistance during the six-month period declined to JOD241 million from 294 million in the first half of 2015.

Total public spending surged to JOD3.819 billion in the Jan-June period against JOD3.573 billion in the same period of 2015.
