Dubai: Regional and international judges and law experts will be participating in the first Dubai Conference for Economic Law that the Dubai Courts Department [DCD] is organising on November 27.

The DCD is hosting this international conference with the aim of developing the infrastructure of economic laws to establish the ideal legal environment for investment in the GCC countries, said Chief Judge Mohammad Al Sabousi, deputy chairman of Dubai Courts and the conference’s official sponsor representative.

The DCD sponsors the three-day event which is the first of its kind across the region. It is expected to have participation from a large number of judges, law experts and consultants at the regional and international levels.

“We are hosting the 1st Dubai Conference for Economic Law to broaden the scope of strategic vision along with highlighting the most recent legal legislation that we continuously develop and create (for acting as) effective applicable bases that embody the safe legal module for businessmen and capital. The conference also emphasises the guarantee process via systems of specialised companies subject to laws passed by the courts, in a way that is aligned with the requirements of investment culture and market movements at the local and international levels,” said Al Sabousi.

He said the event will provide an interactive platform for participating parties to discuss the main frameworks aimed at finalising the legal services of Dubai Government, following the example of Dubai Courts and other judicial institutions concerned in this field in the Gulf to reach a contemporary model that raises the level of investments in the Arab Gulf area while going ahead with a sustainable economy that allows citizens and residents to live a prosperous life and a promising future based on laws that protect their rights to the utmost.

The president of Egypt’s Courts of First Instance and the conference’s scientific rapporteur Judge Dr Fahr Abdul Azim, said: “The UAE laws are flexible and modern enough to cope with the growing economic sectors in various aspects, not to mention the professionalism of these laws that established a type of unique economic market in which the UAE became an example to be followed worldwide, attaining a leading rank highly respected and admired by the world.”
