Riyadh - The Careem taxi company is going all out to emerge as the largest provider of jobs to Saudis by the year 2018, an official of the firm has said.

The company's struggle to provide employment to young Saudis is in line with the Vision 2030 plan, which focuses on creating a booming economy by effectively utilizing the services of young Saudis.

Abdullah Ilyas, founding partner and executive director of the company, said that major Saudi companies provide around 50,000 job opportunities for nationals every year.

In line with the decision of the Ministry of Transport, which allows Saudis to transport passengers in their private cars after acquiring license, Careen has launched a service entitled "Be a captain" through its official website.

Citizens can submit their documents and fix a date for the training program. Training is imparted on serving guests and on how to use the e-portal during work. The trainee then becomes a captain and is ready to work.

Job opportunities with the company are characterized by flexible working hours, which are chosen by the employee, in addition to the positive financial returns, which could exceed SR10,000 per month, said a report.
