DUBAI, 18th March, 2017 (WAM) -- Some 914 Emirati men and women were employed by 111 financial and banking institutions in 75 days through Government Accelerators, a government approach that was launched last year to accelerate the achievement of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, according to Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Of these, 774 employees have already started to work for the institutions, and the remaining 139 are waiting for employment procedures to be completed, Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash noted, while participating in an event on Thursday to honour its Government Accelerators team.

The 914 jobs are out a total of1026 job openings offered by 36 banks, 39 insurance companies and 36 exchange companies and finance houses.

"The banks and financial institutions, which employed the Emirati men and women through the Government Accelerators, proved that they are serious about undertaking their social and national responsibilities and their role in achieving Emiratisation, which receives special attention from the political leadership who directs the continuous empowerment of the national youth through qualification and training, and by providing attractive jobs to ensure that they enjoy family stability and to play an effective role in shaping the future of the UAE," he added.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation is keen to encourage the private sector to employ citizens, he noted.

"We remind other companies and establishments, which have achieved nothing yet in this regard, that Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wants the private sector to shoulder its responsibility in the process of Emiratisation and take part in the development of this generous country, which continues to offer a lot to the sector and encourage investments," he added.
