Brands can save more than 20% in advertising spend when using mFilterIt’s suite of services

Dubai, United Arab: Fraud detection and prevention company, mFilterIt, is calling on companies and brand managers in the Middle East to take action against online advertising fraud, a rapidly growing business that is currently making $50 billion a year worldwide.

On the rise across the MENA region, and with the rapid increase of companies being driven to trade online in the last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reports suggest that ad fraud threats to businesses have risen by 46% since the beginning of the pandemic. Through branding campaigns and performance campaigns, more and more companies are falling prey to ad fraud issues.

Since launching its operations in Dubai in 2017 to safeguard the future thinking smart city that heavily encourages start-ups, online businesses and technology driven projects, mFilterIt has worked with leading companies and brands such as Landmark Group, Careem and Virgin Mobile and has helped them to save $5 Million in ad fraud. The company has done this by educating its clients about the many types of ad fraud they need to protect their customers from such as; Click Spamming, Fake Attribution, Distribution Fraud, Event Spoofing and Fake Devices.

Debsena Chakraborty, General Manager MENA, mFilterIt commented: “The brand and the agency needs to work in sync to prevent bots from impacting the performance of their online campaigns. While digital first services are most impacted by this problem, no one is safe. Ad fraud impacts all sectors - especially the banking, travel, real estate, services, OTT and e-commerce sectors.”

Ad fraud is currently estimated to cost brands and businesses around $44 billion globally by 2022 with studies also indicating that each year, $1.5 billion is lost in marketing spend due to ad fraud and with the festive season coming up, there’s never been a more pressing time for brands and businesses to protect their customers.

Debsena Chakraborty, added: “Fraudsters chase online spending, so over peak spending times such as the festive season, is when they’re most active. With major online shopping events coming up like White Wednesday and Black Friday, it is essential that online retailers have a safety net in place, so they don’t lose out on millions of dirhams and their reputation.”

Since 2015, fraud detection and prevention company, mFilterIt, has been working with brands around the world to help them understand online fraud and the validation tools needed to identify fraud across the customer’s digital journey.
