Host Organization Emirates Foundation Kicking Off Registration February 15

Abu Dhabi: Emirates Foundation, the national organization set up by the Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate public-private funded initiatives or the empowerment of youth across the UAE, announced that registration for the IAVE World Volunteer Conference (IAVE), the largest global gathering of volunteer experts and practitioners, which will be held in Abu Dhabi  October 11-14 2020, will open on February 15, 2020.

Following Abu Dhabi successful bid to host the 26th IAVE World Volunteer Conference, host organization Emirates Foundation is proceeding with preparations, which included establishing a framework and plans for the organization of the World Volunteering conference overseen by a higher committee composed of key members of the volunteering community in the UAE in collaboration with IAVE.

Thousands of participants representing all the stakeholders of the volunteer community from across the world, are expected to attend the much- anticipated 50th Anniversary of the World Conference, which will be held for the first time in the Middle East, sharing and exploring how working together as agents of change, they can provide the practical action that builds hope and resilience, improves lives and strengthens communities.

IAVE comprises a network of national and regional leadership organizations for volunteering, global companies, international NGOs and individual volunteer leaders from over 70 countries across every region of the world. It works in active partnership with United Nations Volunteers, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Volunteer Group Alliance and other international organizations to sustain and strengthen volunteering throughout the world.

The 26th IAVE World Volunteer Conference is a strategic asset to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is designed to create an environment that encourages networking, sharing of knowledge, provoking discussion around the opportunities and formulation of new solutions to challenges shaping the future of volunteering.
