The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Center, SEDC, is gearing up for the participation in the ‘Big 5 Show’ the largest trade fair in the Middle East for building materials, construction products, and solutions, which will be held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center (DICEC) from November 25 – 28.

Through this participation, the SCCI aims at enhancing the domestic industries and opening new export-oriented channels for the Emirati firms in local and international markets.

The SEDC is taking part in the Big 5 Show as a supporter of the event, where the SCCI’s platform will bring together 18 building and construction products companies from the Chamber members.

The participating companies will seize this opportunity to showcase the productive capacities of national industries and highlight their up-to-date products for local, regional, and foreign visitors, as well as potential investors.

Providing a Competitive Environment

HE Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, said: “The SCCI’s participation in this mega event reflects the Chamber’s strategy in providing a competitive environment that helps develop the business of the private sector and SCCI’s affiliated members. This would help them identify the available opportunities and explore the possibility of holding investment partnerships to open new markets for domestic products.”

“The Big 5 Show is an important platform for the companies in the Emirate of Sharjah in view of the specialized products and services this event offers. This will pave the way for holding new partnerships and investments thanks to the various meetings which will be held through the SCCI’s platform,” added Al Awadi.

Concluding his remarks, Al Awadi underlined that the SCCI, represented by the SEDC, has spared no effort to exploit its entire potential to stimulate the private sector to participated and interact with the various economic event inside and outside the country.

In addition, the SCCI is always keen on providing a supportive, advanced perfect environment for domestic exports through a number of diverse services to encourage industrial and exporting facilities to boost its competitiveness in foreign markets and respond to the regional and international marketing opportunities by providing export solutions and means.

Expanding the Geographical Scope of Sharjah’s Exports

For his part, Abdul Aziz Shattaf, SCCI’s Assistant General Director, Members Services Sector and SEDC’s Director, said: “The SEDC, along with the strategic members and partners, is working on expanding the geographical area of Sharjah’s exports at the global level, in addition to raising its efficiency and enhancing its presence in international markets.”

Shattaf further said: “The SCCI has provided a Logistic facilities for the companies to encourage them to take part in the Big 5 Show which is constituting an important opportunity for communication with those interested in establishing or expanding their businesses.”

“Through the Big 5 Show, the participating companies can also introduce their products and services to the potential clients and learn more about new construction and urban projects in the UAE and region. Moreover, the exhibition is forming a platform for establishing new strategic partnerships to bolster the real estate sector growth in Sharjah,” he explained.

The Big 5 Show is one of the most important exhibitions of construction and building materials. It constitutes a global hub for manufacturers, contractors, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers to hold new deals locally and internationally.

The Show is also a good opportunity for the participating companies and visitors to learn closely about the latest updates and trends in the regional market, in addition to establishing new partnerships with potential clients and getting recent information about the construction industry.
