• 245 companies to showcase technologies at Expo for the region’s 50 million People of Determination

Dubai:  His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the AccessAbilities Expo and Dubai Accessible Tourism International Summit (DATIS), which opens tomorrow, will play a key role in supporting and achieving the vision of the UAE government in making the country for People of Determination with Dubai Code helping enhance its pace.

“Dubai is fast becoming a Smart City and technological advancement will bring out advanced solutions to serve the People of Determination and enable the majority of them to live their lives without depending on others,” said Sheikh Ahmed under whose patronage both the eagerly-awaited events takes place. He praised the efforts exerted by the government and private entities and Expo and Summit organizers for their exemplary role in the continuous efforts to enable People of Determination in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent get the finest technology and facilities under one roof.  The ever-improving efforts like Expo and Summit will help the UAE become the largest centre of its kind in the region to provide technology, equipment and smart solutions for People of Determination, and also attract international manufacturers to open offices and representative centres in the country for the same purpose. About the Summit, Sheikh Ahmed said it has been designed to mobilize the largest gathering of local and international officials and experts to address the need to work to make all cities of the world friendlier to People of Determination, which accounts for 10 percent of the global community, through working on the implementation of strategic plans and initiatives.

As many as 245 international companies and centres specializing in the rehabilitation of People with Disabilities from 40 countries across the world will showcase advanced technologies that facilitate the lives and mobility of people with disabilities at the Expo from 5 to 7 November at Hall 5, 6 and 7 of DWTC.

The Expo will have a Knowledge Hub, sponsored by Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA), where experts will conduct sessions on important issues concerning the lives of People of Determination like the importance of technology, smart solutions and mobility, employment and empowerment.

Top officials representing international organizations and government departments in the UAE and experts in tourism and transport will participate in the Summit which will take place from 5 to 6 November in Hall 5 of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
