Abu Dhabi:– The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) took part in nationwide celebrations to mark UAE Flag Day in both of its branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Flag Day commemorates the accession of Founding Father His Highness the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the UAE Presidency. To mark the occasion, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, called on federal and local government entities to raise the national flag in front of their headquarters all around the country.

MFNCA’s Undersecretary His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah hoisted the UAE flag in the outer courtyard of the Ministry’s Abu Dhabi headquarters at 11:00 am, in the presence of H.E. Dr Saeed Mohammed Al-Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs at the MFNCA; H.E. Sami bin Adi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector; and several of the Ministry’s directors and employees. Coinciding with the event in Abu Dhabi, the UAE flag was also raised simultaneously in the MFNCA’s offices in Dubai.

“Flag Day is a national occasion that is dear to our hearts,” said H.E. Lootah. “It is a time for us all to reiterate our commitment to unifying efforts, following in the footsteps of our wise leadership, and working hard to ensure our country’s progress, prosperity, and outstanding reputation around the world, so that our flag – the symbol of our unity – remains an emblem of our pride, reflecting our country’s values of tolerance and generosity, and its status as a role model for development and progress.”

“Today, we pay tribute to the flag of the UAE and reaffirm our loyalty and belonging to this land. We express pride in our heritage, and vow to continue in our Founding Fathers’ footsteps, build a bright future for our children, and meet the aspirations of our people,” H.E. added.

The event was positively received by the Ministry’s staff, who expressed their pride in their country’s achievements, renewing their pledge to work hard and persevere to maintain the UAE’s good reputation among other nations. Flag Day is a national occasion and a platform for the Emirati people to voice their pride and belonging to their country and its wise leadership.
