Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) recently hosted future Information and Communications Technology (ICT) innovators at the company’s head office in Kista - Stockholm, Sweden. 17 students from across Oman, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia spent an extensive week of engaging activities and firsthand learning experiences.

The Student Week was the culmination of Ericsson’s 5G and IoT use cases competitions held alongside with operator partners Omantel, Zain Iraq, and Mobily, targeting engineering students from renowned universities. The winning students were then invited to visit Ericsson’s headquarters in Sweden.

Envisioned with the aim to empower, educate, and inspire the next generation of innovators, Student Week enabled students to meet and collaborate with industry experts and leaders with a specific focus towards the fields of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

As well as receiving extensive training, coaching, and the opportunity to meet with innovation experts, the participants also took part in a range of interactive workshops and presentations on the topics of 5G, IoT, Ericsson Mobility Report, Sustainability, Brand, Innovation, and Future Factories to name but a few.

Other highlights included the exclusive opportunity to spend time in the Ericsson Studio, an insightful glimpse into the planning behind Sweden’s Dubai Expo 2020 pavilion, and group outings to technology companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprises and Intel.
