Dubai: Swisslog, the global leader in robotic, data-driven and flexible automated solutions presented its range of modular yet scalable automation solutions at Seamless Middle East exhibition to meet the dynamic needs of retail, e-commerce and multichannel logistics.

E-commerce has fundamentally changed the nature of the retail supply chain. This segment is currently the fastest growing segment in the global economy. While this means tremendous opportunity for both multi-channel retailers and pureplay e-commerce companies, meeting the challenges of omni-channel fulfillment operations is compounded by consumer expectations for speed, individuality and convenience, forcing retailers to rapidly adjust their supply chain concepts.

At the exhibition, Swisslog unveiled the latest solutions for smart warehousing, included ACPaQ, Vectura, PowerStore, AutoStore and CarryPick for small parts storage and pallet operations. These innovative logistics automation solutions deliver benchmarks of an effective smart warehouse, and an area of innovation that can help businesses across the Middle East improve and streamline operations - increase the speed of order fulfillment, improve order accuracy and effectively manage an ever-increasing number of SKUs. Order fulfillment rates can be up to five times faster than manual systems.

According to a new market research report Logistics Automation Market by Component Organization Size, Vertical and Region - Global Forecast to 2023 the global market is estimated to be USD 46.22 Billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 80.64 Billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 11.8% during the forecast period. The growth of the market can be attributed to the exponential growth of the e-commerce industry, advancements in robotics, and the emergence of IoT.

“At Swisslog we are dedicated to finding the most innovative storage solutions in Logistics Automation to improve our customers’ day-to-day operations. As retailers integrate e-commerce into their operations, employing the right systems to dynamically process orders is of critical importance. Our solutions have provided our customers with significant improvements in logistics enabling optimal usage of the same space.” commented Alain Kaddoum, General Manager of Swisslog Middle East.

Our goal is to always create the right solution for the job. Drawing on our 100-year heritage of innovation and creativity, we are committed to providing our customers with options that meet all levels of automation and storage handling needs,” added Kaddoum.

Smart initiatives driven by the UAE Government and Expo 2020 is placing an enormous focus on topics like Industry 4.0, digitalisation and omnichannel experience.  Moreover, the UAE is the major contributor in the GCC for adopting automation technologies. The country was among the top global markets for 2016-2017 in industrial automation, focusing on sensors and instruments, electric motors and actuators, electrical relay and industrial control equipment, materials handling and industrial robots.

At the expo, Kaddoum conducted two presentations speaking about the importance of increasing efficiency with data-driven and robotic warehousing and the power of automation in retail/e-commerce sectors.
