Dubai: Medcare has announced the appointment of three new obstetrics and gynaecology consultants to its current existing network of over 350 healthcare professionals across three multi-specialty hospitals, one specialty hospital, 12 multi-specialty centres and two specialty centres across Dubai and Sharjah.
The announcement reflects Medcare’s keen interest to drive a patient centric care approach by providing a seamless healthcare journey, and one which mirrors its underlying commitment towards delivering medical as well as clinical excellence.
The obstetrician & gynaecologist medical team at Medcare is made up of a wide number of highly-trained specialists who deliver patient-centric care and champion clinical excellence tailored to the patients’ needs. The new doctors will provide a wealth of knowledge and capabilities in their relevant disciplines, while ensuring patient safety and high-quality treatment.
Dr. Shiva Harikrishnan is a consultant obstetrics & gynaecology, located at Medcare Women & Children Hospital, Dubai. Dr Harikrishnan earned her medical degree from Medical College Trivandrum Kerala, India in 1989, and brings over 28 years of clinical experience from India and the UAE to her role at Medcare, including knowledge of high-risk pregnancies, ovarian cyst surgery and management of gynaecological endocrine disorders.
In addition, Dr. Patretia Edward is a consultant obstetrics & gynaecology at Medcare Hospital Sharjah, and has more than 30 years of teaching and clinical experience in obstetrics & gynaecology from both India and the UAE. Dr. Edward also earned her medical degree from Medical College Trivandrum Kerala, India in 1987. She brings knowledge of high risk pregnancy management, infertility treatment and obstetric emergencies, amongst others.
Joining Dr. Patretia Edward at the Medcare Hospital in Sharjah is Dr. Rania Al Qedrah, a consultant obstetrics & gynaecology . Dr Al Qedrah brings over 24 years of clinical experience in the UAE within the field of obstetrics & gynecology, ranging from pregnancy care to management of women’s health.
The new appointments are in line with Medcare’s strategy that aims at providing optimum healthcare services to its patients to meet their utmost needs. The new doctors will be joining Medcare’s acclaimed team of obstetricians & gynaecologists who work to manage and treat the comprehensive range of health issues that women can suffer from. These doctors use advanced technology to holistically manage all aspects of women’s health, and also work closely with doctors in the neonatal department for the management of pregnancy complications.
