Ministry of Health and Prevention is participating in Arab Health Exhibition and Congress (Arab Health 2019), organized between 28-31 January at Dubai World Trade Center. The event is the largest conference in the healthcare sector in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Ministry’s pavilion showcase a package of smart services, which reflects its commitment to adopt latest technology and innovations. The event is an opportunity for MOHAP to showcase achievements and promote world-class healthcare services.

Coinciding with Arab Health 2019 and in coordination with Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship, the Ministry is launching  “Medical Records Through Emirates ID” project. The project will include developing a system to access medical records using Emirates ID inside the UAE or GCC countries.

H.E. Awad Bin Saghir Al Ketbi, Undersecretary of the Supportive Services Sector at the Ministry of Health and Prevention stressed that the project reflect the directives of the wise leadership, to make the UAE a leader in proactive action to overcome future challenges, and focus on establishing a smart healthcare system.

H.E. Highlighted that the project is a result of the Ministry's efforts to base healthcare services on technology, as per the Ministry's strategy (2017-2021), and vision to build a highly-efficient and sustainable health eco-system for a happy society. The vision also aims to provide excellent services according to the highest international quality and safety standards.

For her part, Mubaraka Mubarak Ibrahim, Director of IT Department at the Ministry of Health and Prevention explained that the Ministry is collaborating with the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship to provide medical information using the ID cards safely and securely, allowing healthcare providers to review the necessary information such as blood type, health insurance, vaccinations, communicable or chronic diseases, latest surgeries, lab results, effective medications or hypersensitivity to medications. The first phase will include implementing the project in hospitals affiliated with the Ministry, allowing healthcare providers in the UAE or GCC access to the patients’ medical records.

Arab Health Exhibition and Congress (Arab Health 2019) is the biggest event of its kind in the region, and it is held annually during the last week of January. Last year's edition received over 70,000 visitors from 159 countries, highlighting its importance as the leading healthcare industry trade show in the region.
