Dubai: The Ministry of Health and Prevention “MOHAP” announced its participation at Arab Health 2019 which will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre and lasts until 31 January.

MOHAP will showcase a unique bundle of innovative healthcare services, preventive and curative projects consistent with the latest medical technologies and focusing on the concepts of “industrial revolution, exploring future and smart services”.

A future platform on the way of future governments

H.E Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, underlined that the ministry’s participation at Arab Health 2019 represents a future platform for the latest technologies and the innovative healthcare services in the world.

That comes in line with the directives of our wise leadership for the transformation into an advanced phase on the way of future governments and boosting the competitive position of the country towards exploring healthcare future, consolidating the contribution of the country in the proactive confrontation for future challenges, focusing on preventative healthcare and smart services around the clock according to UAE Centennial 2071, UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the 4th industrial revolution.

The minister noted that the initiatives and projects launched by the ministry aims to enhance the place of UAE on the future agenda in the healthcare field and explore unprecedented paths to achieve the leadership in health quality domains and innovate sustainable solutions for healthcare future through development of future government projects aiming to foster the preventive aspect, chronic diseases control, incorporating smart applications into mental health services, providing remote healthcare services in accordance with the best international practices so as to accomplish a sustainable healthcare system which leads to a happy society and cares about its health to have a society with deep knowledge.

23 innovative projects on the platforms of MOHAP and the corporation

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, noted that this year’s participation comes under the slogan “Crossing Future Limits” which includes 23 innovative projects on the platforms of MOHAP and UAE Health Services Corporation. The user will be able to get knowledge about a package of innovative health services and proactive medical technologies in the healthcare field and based on block-chain technologies, AI and the 4th industrial revolution. Also, the projects comprise the launch of worldwide leading projects in partnership with the private sector, providing curative solutions for chronic diseases and to keep up with the latest developments of personalized medicine to allow patients to manage their curative services individually and remotely.

Incorporating AI into the medical services

H.E. Dr. Al Olama, added that the available projects on the platforms of the ministry of health and prevention and UAE Health Services Corporation are consolidating the unique position of UAE in the healthcare field and within the framework of the wise leadership for shaping the road map towards the future and beyond it.

He highlighted the keenness of the ministry on making qualitative transformations that pour in the favor of patients by using the latest international technologies such as AI, block-chain and other technologies, so as to achieve MOHAP’s strategy to provide a comprehensive and integrated healthcare in innovative and sustainable approaches in addition to developing the medical information in accordance with international standards and implementing the Government’s directives through incorporating AI completely in medical services in accordance with UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy and to cope with UAE Centennial 2071.

Launching projects, smart applications, digital solutions and virtual reality stimulation

The participating projects include the launch of a comprehensive platform for preventative health screening through early detection unit, launch of student growth registry, launch of an interactive map for physical-activity-promoting venues, in addition to world-class medical, diagnostic and preventative services, And the development of virtual reality technology to enhance the role of nursing in the care of diabetics children by educating them in a simplified and innovative way to accept the follow-up of taking insulin doses, in addition to promoting the effective role of nursing in the education of diabetes, which in turn enable the nursing staff to exploit their potential and their role in education, in addition to smart applications to promote mental health services and using AI in labor check-up.

Furthermore, the participation of MOHAP will witness several outstanding projects such as the Future Incubators which helps the premature embryos and another project for premature babies stimulation, immunotherapy for fighting diseases including cancer, pre and post-operative digital solutions, diabetes self-management, block-chain applications in organs implantation, adding health data to the ID, organ donation process after death, an application for reporting hazardous drug interactions dedicated for both patients, healthcare providers and professionals in addition to virtual reality experience to encourage youth to work in the medical field, and encourage doctors to study medical specialties such as cardiology, emergency medicine, diabetes and endocrinology.
