With this central theme of discussing the ailments of stomach and the latest approaches worldwide, the 4th International Conference on Gastroenterology was held over the weekend at Hotel InterContinental, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Best global practices to over 400 doctors of UAE and the larger GCC were shared by Specialists and Consultants in the fields of GI Endoscopy, Gastro Oncology, GI Surgery, Pathologist and Radiologists who provided their insight into the realms of Gastroenterology.

The sessions were deliberated by some of the most eminent doctors like Dr. Sameer Al Awadhi, Head of Gastroenterology at Rashid Hospital, Professor Dr. Jurgen Stein, Head of Gastroenterology, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and Prof Dr. Ho Khek- Yu Lawrence, Director at Centre for Innovation in health care, National University Health system, Singapore and Dr. Yogesh Shastri, Consultant and Head, Dept. of Gastroenterology NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi.

Some of the never before discussed topics were by Dr. Lawrence from Singapore who talked about his ongoing innovation in interventional capsule endoscopy and the role of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Gastroenterology and an educative lecture on Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), by Dr. Shastri, who claims having pioneered this procedure in Abu Dhabi conducting over 500 of them, explained how this procedure has revolutionized the clinical practice in the field of Gastroenterology, Oncology and GI Surgery.

In order to have an experiential and participative learning opportunities for the attendees, the most appreciated feature of this conference was the "LIVE TRANSMISSION" of Endoscopic Ultrasound from Center for Interventional endoscopy, Florida Hospital in Orlando by its Medical Director Dr. Shyam Varadarajulu where he shared live cases by a transmission link.
