14 September 2015 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates)

The American Hospital Dubai and its new Dubai Media City Clinic are now accepting patients under SAADA, the new health insurance program for UAE nationals in Dubai, which was introduced recently with a focus on screening, prevention and wellness. SAADA patients are being accepted through the American Hospital Dubai's agreement with NEXtCARE, a Third Party Administrator (TPA).

Under the agreement with SAADA, UAE national patients who are eligible for Dubai National benefit can visit the American Hospital Dubai or the new Dubai Media City Clinic and access a comprehensive range of medical procedures and services, including some wellness and screening checks, with the benefit of direct billing (subject to the conditions of the policy which may require pre-approval and co-payment).

SAADA (which means 'happiness' in Arabic) was initiated by the Dubai Health Authority and provides cover for the whole of the life of the insured and, in addition to health cover, includes mandatory preventive health screening. SAADA covers UAE nationals not covered by government health insurance programs in Dubai.

Mr Peter Makowski, Chief Executive Officer of the American Hospital Dubai, commented: "SAADA is a fantastic innovation that will not only provide valuable health insurance cover for UAE nationals in Dubai but, perhaps even more importantly, focus on screening and prevention and ultimately the

wellbeing of society. This is a great testament to the Government of Dubai's commitment to providing and ensuring high quality healthcare for its community. We have already started receiving a great response and a large number of inquiries from patients on the program. The American Hospital Dubai and our new Dubai Media City Clinic are proud to join the SAADA members network and fully support the aim of encouraging wellness across Dubai."

The American Hospital Dubai works with around 80 international and local insurance companies, directly or indirectly. Around half of all the hospital's patients are covered by insurers. Insurers also refer complex cases from around the region to the American Hospital Dubai, as a regional center with strong tertiary care capabilities, including comprehensive Cancer treatment, The Heart Center, and the Orthopedics and Total Joint Reconstruction department.

With the new facilities and services, the hospital continues its ongoing physician recruitment plan, which will extend the number of American Board Certified or equivalent practicing physicians at the Hospital, to well over 100.

The hospital's new bed tower is currently rolling out new facilities that will create an additional 197 beds in private rooms and suites, transforming the hospital into a 384-bed campus.
