DUBAI - The Health and Environmental Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, FNC, began its discussion, during its meeting today at the headquarters of the FNC General Secretariat in Dubai, which was chaired by Salem Obaid Al Hassan Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Committee, on a draft law on the use of information and communication technology in the health sector.

The draft law, which comprises 31 articles, aims to place the necessary controls and ensure the appropriate use of information and communication technology in facilitating communication between health sector users and employees, to ensure the rights of all parties, identify their duties, and guarantee the safety of data and medical information.

The meeting was attended by Naema Abdullah Al Sharhan, Committee Moderator, Khalid Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, and Obaid Hassan bin Rakkadh, as well as representatives of the Health Department in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Health Authority and the Higher Legislations Committee in Dubai.

Al Shamsi stated that the meeting discussed the committee’s amendments to certain articles while adding that the committee will continue its discussions in its future meetings, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Health and Community Prevention, to listen to their opinions and propositions about the dart law and respond to relevant inquiries.
