UAE-UK bilateral trade hits $3.27bln in Q1

Abu Dhabi – Trade exchange between the UAE and the United Kingdom fell by 22.6% to AED 12.22 billion during the first quarter of 2018, versus AED 15.78 billion in Q1-17.

Imports from the UK declined by 22% year-on-year to AED 8.36 billion in Q1-18 from AED 10.74 billion, according to data by the UK’s Office for National Statistics.

Meanwhile, exports to the UK retreated by 23% to AED 3.88 billion, compared to AED 5.05 billion in Q1-17.

Trade deficit between both countries fell by 21% in Q1-18 to AED 4.48 billion, versus AED 4.48 billion in the year-ago period.
