Abu Dhabi Thursday: The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi participated at the International Transport Forum – 2018 that takes place in Leipzig, Germany, on May 23-25. Number of issues related to the transport field and road safety, were discussed with the participation of different countries around the world, representatives with more than 1500 experts and specialists in the transport sector. The Forum is considered as a platform of knowledge and experience exchange among different countries.
Many workshops are held during the three-day Forum discussing matters related to the road safety management and innovative solutions that enhance the developed infrastructure and improve the quality of services offered to the society.
DoT will seize the opportunity of its participation at the Forum to promote for the World Road Congress – 2019, the renowned event that DoT has successfully won the right to host in Abu Dhabi. That is part of its continuous efforts to support of the UAE’s contribution to road development worldwide and as part of its preparations to host major and international transport events.
Like the other forums and conferences hosted by the World Road Association, the Abu Dhabi’s World Road Congress that will be hosted under the slogan “Linking Cultures, Empowering Economics,” is anticipated to attract around 7000 delegates and representatives from government and private sectors from more than 120 countries.
DoT strives for enhancing its cooperation between stakeholders and offering all the requirements to ensure the success of the Congress. It is worth to mention that the Congress will discuss the latest updates related to the development of road network, transport systems, monitoring the traffic, best innovative practices in smart cities and smart transport systems and other related topics.
