MAKKAH — The Haramain Express Train is operating 56 weekly trips during the holy month of Ramadan, Makkah daily reported on Monday quoting Rayan Al-Harbe, director of operations and maintenance.

He said the train operates its trips from its stations in Makkah, Jeddah, Madinah and King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh.

Harbe said the train is scheduled to transport about 90,000 passengers according to the previously announced plans.

He said the accuracy of the trips has reached about 98 percent and added that the timing of the trips was not affected by the recent rains in various parts of the country.

Harbe said all stations are working properly except the station at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah which has not yet become fully operational.

He said the speed of the train did not exceed 200km/h.
