Riyadh – Bahri has signed a 20-year agreement, valued at SAR 760 million, with Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC).
The agreement includes establishing three floating stations to desalinate water and the transfer of desalinated water from the stations to desalination tanks.
Each of the three stations will have a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day (m3/d) with a total capacity of 150,000 m3/d.
The project will be operational for 20 years, starting from the date of commercial operation, which is expected to be in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020, according to a company statement on Sunday.
It is worth noting that Bahri is the national shipping company of Saudi Arabia, while SWCC is a Saudi government corporation responsible for the desalination of seawater, producing electric power, and supplying desalinated water to various regions across the Kingdom.
