Dubai-based developer Deyaar has awarded main construction contract worth 370 million UAE dirhams ($100.7 million) for the third and fourth phases of its Midtown community to G&B Contracting.

The development is located adjacent to Dubai Production City near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

The third phase Noor district is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022, the company, listed on the Dubai Financial Market and majority-owned by Dubai Islamic Bank, said in a statement.

Deyaar Development CEO Saeed Al Qatami said Midtown development was designed with emphasis on community living and basic amenities.

"After the successful delivery of the first two phases, we believe this is the right time to start construction on the new districts," he said.

Afnan and Dania, first two completed districts of the Midtown development, comprises of 13 buildings and more than 1,200 apartments.

Khalid Ababneh, Vice President, Projects and Commercial said Dania and Afnan also feature a total of 30,000 square feet of retail space that encompasses an anchor supermarket, nursery, restaurants, ladies and gents' salons and a pharmacy.

The Noor district would comprise of seven buildings incorporating studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, according to the Midtown project's website. Data sourced from Dubai Land Department's DUBAI REST app indicated that Noor would include 593 residential units and 14 retail units.

While the Deyaar statement didn't elaborate on the fourth phase, DLD data indicated that 'Midtown Mesk' would comprise a total of 275 residential units and 7 commercial units.

Launched in 2015, the Midtown development will eventually house more than 2,000 residential units in 24 buildings across six districts when completed.

Dubai-based U+A architects has designed the project.
