Muscat: In the current year Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) invested in a group of electricity projects in Muscat Governorate, which cost approximately OMR7 million to operate, upgrade stations and to expand new power lines.


The total capacity of these stations was 182 MVA.

The plan included four main projects:
Operating Al-Araimi Boulevard station with a capacity of 3x20 MVA.
Operating the Police Hospital Station with a capacity of 3x20 MVA.
The project of upgrading Renaissance station in the state of Al Amerat, 2x20 MVA to 3x20 MVA.
The project of upgrading Al-Awabi station in the state of Baushar from 3x6 MVA to 3x20 MVA.

These projects and investments will cover the growing demand for electric power in the governorate and to increase its efficiency and quality. Knowing that before entering into operation these power stations have undergone examinations and tests by the companys engineers, to ensure their operational readiness and efficiency.
