The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Compliance Association (ICA) for the establishment of a Compliance Centre of Excellence.

In a ceremony attended by NBB Group chief compliance officer Rana Qambar, group chief human resources and sustainability officer Dana Buheji, head of compliance assurance Noor Marhoon, senior human resources manager Mohammed Matar, it was announced that the aim is to build effective competencies that align with international compliance standards.

ICA APAC and Mena chief executive Helen Langton joined the ceremony virtually.

The initiative is based on providing experience and education to participants.

It will consist of role specific training, professional qualifications, micro learning, immersive scenarios, masterclasses and a continuous professional development programme.
