Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, announced the establishment of the national network for monitoring industrial wastewater pollutants.

The decision is in line with the environment law no. 4 of 1994 as amended by the Prime Minister's decree no. 1963 of 2017 which regulates the discharge of industrial pollutants into the water, Fouad said in a statement on Sunday.

The Egyptian Abo El Hol For Oils & Detergents, which discharges wastewater into Lake Mariout, has been linked to the national network, and work is underway to link other companies, including Amreya Petroleum Refining Company and Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co (Sidpec), to the network, the minister added.
