The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has launched an initiative to enable 20,000 youths across Egypt to freelance through electronic platforms.

The initiative, run through the integrated community centres developed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, was launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The initiative provides online training lasting over two months, and will cover training in general life skills such as effective communications and leadership skills. The initiative also provides guidance for specialised training areas, as well as specialised professional training through technical aspects such as computer networking, programming, operating systems, and cyber-security.

This comes in addition to technical training in the areas of electronic marketing, graphic design, mobile application development, website development and administrative work.

This initiative comes as part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s strategy aimed at building up Egyptian youth and providing digital technology learning opportunities. The ministry’s strategy also aims at maximising the benefits of the capacities of independent professionals.
