With mega sales and one-of-a-kind outdoor markets, spectacular fireworks and a scintillating performance by Egyptian megastar Mohamed Mounir, 23rd edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival officially begins today.

The month-long annual event, taking place until January 28, 2018, will feature mega raffles that offer residents and visitors prizes worth up to Dh1 million.

12-hour super sale

Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the festival is kicking off with a 12-hour super sale from midday until midnight on December 26.

The sale will be on at all the Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls in Dubai, including The Mall of the Emirates and City Centres. Shoppers can enjoy a discount from 20-90 per cent during the sale. Moreover, shoppers who spend Dh200 can enter a draw to win a grand prize of Dh50,000. The winner will be announced on Tuesday midnight at City Centre Mirdif.

Other in-mall entertainment activities include the New Years Eve special shows, which are scheduled to take place from 7pm on December 31. Four consecutive fireworks will ring in the New Year.

Retail partnerships
The DSF has partnered with various retail outlets, giving interiors-lovers the chance to win a specially-curated DSF Concept Room complete with top-of-the-range furniture and worth up to Dh10,000 if they spend Dh1,000 at participating stores.

The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group Mega Jewellery Retail Promotion is giving 100 lucky winners the opportunity to walk away with 33kg of gold. Those who spend a minimum of Dh500 will get raffle tickets for the draw and every day three lucky shoppers will win gold one half kilo and two quarter kilos each. The final winner will go home with 1kg of gold.

Fireworks The DFRE has organised 36 spectacular firework nights during the 23rd edition of the festival. Residents can book a table at a great viewing spot, or take a picnic to enjoy these displays in great vantage points across Dubai such as The Beach, La Mer, and Al Seef.
