• Dub Drive GCC is the region’s largest Volkswagen community event
  • Dub Drive GCC 2020 will take place on 7th and 8th February 2020 in Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Volkswagen Middle East and esteemed GCC club members have finally revealed dates for one of the region’s most anticipated automotive events to take place, Dub Drive GCC 2020. The big reveal took place live on the international main stage at the world’s largest Volkswagen gathering, Wörthersee Treffen, and set the wheels in motion for Dub Drive GCC 2020 to be the best one yet.

Established in 2016, Dub Drive GCC has grown to be the largest Volkswagen gathering in the Middle East, with enthusiasts attending from across the region and globally too. The event, which will take place from 7-8 February 2020, will begin with a closed-roads convoy drive through the streets of Abu Dhabi. The festival day is filled with live music, food trucks and insanely modified cars, suitable for automotive enthusiasts and families too.

The Middle Eastern automotive club scene is fuelled by an intrinsic passion for modifying cars and some of the most unique found in the region highlight the commitment shown by owners to develop exciting, one-of-a-kind models. The winning clubs from this year’s Dub Drive GCC event represented the region at Volkswagen’s largest global gathering, Wörthersee Treffen, which is now in its 38th edition and attracts over 100,000 visitors from across the world.

Each modification showcases an indigenous aesthetic and forms an expression of the car owner’s personal style, and Dub Drive GCC is a platform for this vast number of enthusiasts to shine. The event has gained international recognition, with visitors from the USA and Europe now regularly attending.

Hana Mathew, Events Manager for Volkswagen Middle East said, “We are proud and honoured to share the region’s passion for the brand with this global audience. Being able to announce our 4th edition in front of the Volkswagen community is such an exciting moment for us. We have grown exponentially in the last few years, with more clubs being established and more fans engaging with our unified club community. We are extremely excited about the future of our club scene and it’s been fantastic to receive attention globally.  Last year we welcomed more international clubs to Dub Drive GCC – so we hope to see more of you at our 2020 event in the UAE capital.”

The success and growth of Dub Drive GCC has come from the dedication and hard work of all the club members, who put the heart beat into the Volkswagen community.

Muntaser Al-Barwani, admin of the Oman Volkswagen Club said, “Dub Drive GCC is a key calendar event, as it enables us to showcase our clubs to a greater audience year on year. We are thrilled to represent the region at Wörthersee Treffen to promote Dub Drive GCC 2020 even further.”

Clubs from Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates drive thousands of kilometres to join the festival, with the first Saudi Arabian female club being introduced this year. Whether guests are avid car admirers or showing off their latest modification, Dub Drive GCC has something for everyone.
