ABU DHABI, 24th January, 2017 (WAM) -- The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, NCMS, has urged motorists to be cautious on roads due to rough weather and strong winds in various parts of the country.

In its statement, the NCMS said that the weather today will be partly cloudy in general, with rainfall over northern and eastern areas. A drop in temperatures is expected with moderate to fresh winds over land, causing blowing dust/sand and poor visibility at times over exposed areas. Winds will be fresh to strong over the sea and seas will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the sea of Oman.

The statement added that on Wednesday the weather will be partly cloudy in general, cloudy over some of eastern and northern areas with chance of some rain, especially towards the north. Moderate winds in general over the land and fresh over the sea, becoming moderate by night. Sea will be rough, becoming moderate by night in the Arabian Gulf and rough to moderate in the sea of Oman.

The partly cloudy weather will continue in general for Thursday, with a chance of light rain over the coast and islands.
