• Season to propel emirate’s gastronomical excellence via diverse array of innovative food concepts

Abu Dhabi, UAE : The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced the mouth-watering Abu Dhabi Culinary Season, the emirate’s annual six-week celebration of innovative food experiences, will return to the UAE capital from 18 October until 9 December.

Reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global culinary destination, Abu Dhabi Culinary Season’s third edition will also be enhanced this year following the recent announcement that the city will serve as host to the inaugural celebration of MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants.

With the new Season fast approaching, Abu Dhabi Culinary, DCT Abu Dhabi’s dedicated industry enabler platform, is continuing its mission to establish the emirate as a leading international culinary destination via remarkable, unique and diverse programming for culinary-themed events.

The ‘appetiser’ for Abu Dhabi Culinary Season 2021 - following an incredibly successful debut last year – will be the innovative Food Forward series, which will return and encompass four days of experiential supper clubs and exclusive dining experiences from 19 to 23 October. With a third Food Forward series programme also expected to roll-out later in the Season, leading international gourmands and culinary masterminds including Anthony Demetre and Chef Faisal Naser are confirmed to be bringing their international flair and kitchen prowess to Abu Dhabi’s fast-maturing epicurean scene, guaranteeing diners across the city an unforgettable experience at the iconic Emirates Palace.

Anchoring this year’s Season, the hugely popular Chef’s Table series is also returning, bigger than ever, to continue enriching and nurturing the emirate’s homegrown culinary ecosystem. The series will see 20 of the city’s best restaurants serve up exclusive multi-course menus, entertainment, masterclasses, collaborations with Emirati chefs and more from 25 October – 27 November. Restaurants participating include LPM, Coya, Villa Toscana, Hakkasan, Buddha Bar and Beirut Sur Mer.

Abu Dhabi Culinary Season will also celebrate the emirate’s gastronomic diversity with the launch of much-loved concepts including Paradiso, Bushra, Akiba Dori and more at the new Yas Bay development on Yas Island, the city’s entertainment and leisure capital.

Elsewhere, collaborations with homegrown and distinguished culinary talents will highlight the expanding haute cuisine landscape across the emirate, while an exclusive partnership with Gaggenau will pay homage to Emirati craftsmen and weave connections between heritage, luxury and culinary skills at ‘The Craftmanship Dinner’ at Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Other headline events during Abu Dhabi Culinary Season include a circus-themed afternoon tea at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers between 1 November and 30 January, as well as numerous exciting culinary promotions taking place across the city.

“Following two years of evolution and growth, this year’s Abu Dhabi Culinary Season promises to cement Abu Dhabi’s standing as a must-visit destination for global 'Gastronomads', thereby supporting local establishments by generating footfall and revenue, and contributing to the emirate’s overall success in the tourism sector,” added HE Al Shaiba.
