Manama, Bahrain: AIESECinBahrain & NBB have successfully held the first ‘Career Compass’ youth guidance and training programme, sponsored by NBB. The programme saw over 200 students further exploring their chosen academic majors, as well as other fields of study, to foster a deeper understanding of what lies ahead and how to prepare for a brighter future in the workforce.

The ‘Career Compass’ programme kicked-off with a virtual discussion panel encompassing 15 experts who covered a number of fields, including Banking & Accounting, Mass Communications, Civil Engineering, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science & Engineering. Participants also took part in a ‘Skills Space’ session designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the skills required for their chosen fields of interest, such as CV & Job Interview tips, concluding with the chance to apply for an internship opportunity.

Partners and Participants who took part in this successful programme were recognised during a closing ceremony held on June 10th, where Mr. Shafi Al Mannai, Human Resources Manager & Corporate Social Responsibilities Officer in NBB, announced the winners for the internship programme.

Commenting on the success of the project during the closing ceremony, Mr. Shafi said: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the AIESEC Team for all their hard work and efforts, and congratulate the students who have been accepted into the internship opportunities available. It takes plenty of passion and enthusiasm to be able to move forward in the professional life, and this presented our youth with a great opportunity to get a glimpse of how far they can reach when they allow their passion to lead the way. Participating in such an event further extends our commitment to invest in our community and our youth, which is a crucial part of our ongoing sustainability efforts within the Kingdom”

AIESEC is one of the largest global non-profit and non-governmental youth organizations, providing development programmes designed to foster youth leadership abilities, in addition to cultural exchange programmes and volunteer opportunities in various parts of the world. Over 1,500 Bahraini youths have taken part in AIESEC activities, contributing to meaningful projects as they worked to develop their capabilities and leadership skills.
