Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), announced on Sunday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) to explore and implement retrofit projects within the UAE's largest public healthcare network.

SEHA, a part of ADQ, owns and operates all the public hospitals and clinics of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

ADES said in a statement that it will work closely with SEHA to assess current energy and water consumption trends and develop a comprehensive plan to improve efficiency across SEHA's facilities.

The statement said the MoU would play an important role in Abu Dhabi's Demand Side Management and Energy Rationalisation Strategy 2030, which targets a reduction in electricity consumption by more than 22 percent and water consumption by more than 32 percent.

Omar Abdulla Alhashmi, Executive Director of Transmission and Distribution at TAQA Group, said: "Looking ahead, ADES will drive the growth of the local energy services market as we help organisations future-proof their operations, spearhead energy efficiency and deliver tangible economic benefits now and in the years to come."

Dr Marwan Al Kaabi, Acting Group Chief Operations Officer, SEHA, added: "Our collaboration allows us to maintain both our power and technological systems at the highest levels, in order to optimise all our operations."

Launched in January 2020, ADES provides energy-efficient solutions and tools to government and private sectors in Abu Dhabi allowing them to reduce the energy consumption of their facilities, the press statement noted.
