Abu Dhabi Ports announced on Sunday that it has completed the acquisition of MICCO Logistics.

Founded in 1978, MICCO Logistics is one of the first local freight forwarders established in Abu Dhabi and one of the first businesses to offer consolidated freight services to the emirate's oil and gas industry.

Abu Dhabi Ports said in a press statement that MICCO Logistics'international and regional logistics solutions, its modern transportation fleet with more than 350 vehicles, a network of temperature-controlled warehouses would be integrated with Abu Dhabi Ports Logistics' multi cargo handling and industrial zone capacity to make the combined entity the first provider of end-to-end logistics solutions in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the energy sector, Abu Dhabi Ports Logistics would also be able to expand its services to retail, e-fulfilment, FMCG and pharmaceutical/healthcare sectors, the statement noted.

MICCO's portfolio of logistics solutions includes freight management in Project, Contract, and Commercial Logistics, multi-modal transport, warehousing and distribution, stevedoring and road feeder services for the aviation segment.

The company has 350,000 square metres of warehousing space, 11 logistics facilities across the GCC and more than 1,500 associates, the press statement noted.
