Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (T?KA) built a solar-powered poultry farm that operates uninterruptedly in Guinea.

As part of the project, a solar-powered poultry farm that can operate 24 hours a day and has a capacity of 2000 birds was built in the College for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, which is located in Koba, Guinea, and has 109 boarders.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the project, Bülent Korkmaz, Head of the Department of Projects in the Middle East and Africa at T?KA, said, “Even though there is no electricity in Koba, we put into service a solar-powered system that runs 24 hours a day. This investment aims to help the school generate income and provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge. We had previously built a training greenhouse and installed an irrigation system at the school. We supported the school in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry. Now, we would like to help other schools in the country. During my work trip, I also visited Kindia and Farmoriah. I have seen the great results we have achieved there. We are carrying out projects even in remote areas such as Labé, Mamou, and Kankan. We aim to implement projects in all parts of the country. We will develop projects for quality pineapples, mangoes, and papayas grown by Guinean farmers to be sold in the Turkish market. In this context, we will focus on commercial delegation visits in 2022.”
