Dubai: Stunning jewellery designs are on display at the Italian pavilion at VOD Dubai. Valentina Setta, the Consul General of Italy in Dubai , officially opened the 300 m² Italian pavilion in the presence of Gianpaolo Bruno, Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan at the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and VIP guests.

Speaking at the event, Valentina Setta, the Consul General of Italy in Dubai, said: “VOD Dubai is a strategic platform for Italian companies to display their design and manufacturing excellence to buyers and customers in the Middle East. UAE continues to be the second largest market for Italian jewellery sector as luxurious designs from Italy enjoy a niche market here. As in every sector, the competition is high, and the Italian companies have had to adopt the latest technology and keep on top of consumer trends to appeal to a younger, more modern generation. At the Italian pavilion visitors can see how art and technology blend perfectly to create beautiful jewels.”

At the event, visitors can experience the beauty of technological innovation exhibited by A.F.E.M.O., the Italian Association of Jewellery Machinery Manufacturers and Exporters, whose members keep Italy at the vanguard of technological innovation in the jewellery manufacturing sector. Innovative designs combining Italian art and technology are displayed through a creative wall by A.F.E.M.O at the pavilion.

According to Gianpaolo Bruno, Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan at the Italian Trade Agency: “The Middle East continues to count among the main world markets of luxury. According to the World Gold Council, in 2017 the demand for jewellery products from Middle East amounted to 193 tons, ranking after China and India. Italian jewellery is known for luxury so it’s a perfect fit for this market. The 28 jewellers participating at VOD Dubai display a vast selection of modern and classic designs that will appeal to UAE’s luxury conscious consumers.”

VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show 2018 takes place from November 14-17 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The Italian pavilion will be located at stands R131-W136 at Sheikh Saeed Hall 1 in DWTC.
