Working hours at a fish market have been extended to help reduce congestion of visitors during the day.

The market at Hidd Harbour will remain open from 8am to 6pm.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry’s Agriculture and Marine Resources Under-Secretary Dr Nabeel Abu Al Fateh said that the opening hours had been extended to prevent people from overcrowding at the fish market.

“Due to the exceptional situation and efforts placed to combat the coronavirus we have extended the number of working hours at Hidd Harbour fish market,” he said.

“This was done to avoid overcrowding and people now have from 8am to 6pm to buy fish.

“This is part of a plan put to help fishermen and the process of selling fish.

“This will help 21 stands at the fish market in Hidd, which is one of the major fish markets in Bahrain.
