Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works (MPW) has started the construction work on one of its ambitious healthcare projects - a 780-bed maternity hospital in the Al Sabah Medical Area.

The giant facility will boast 60 delivery rooms and 28 operation theatres besides 240 units, reported Al Jarida daily.

The project is built on a large area using the latest construction techniques to meet the needs of citizens and will consist of a large number of beds and medical services for delivery and post-natal care, and children’s ward, stated the report.

The hospital, in addition to the many other specialties, contains a dining hall and a theatre that can accommodate 200 people, it added.
