Muscat - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will soon be launching the tender for the second phase of the Oman Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

The ministry stated on Sunday that it is intending to launch an international tender for the second package of the Oman Pavilion. It said, “The ministry, in coordination with the Tender Board, announces its intent to launch an international tender for the second package, for the construction and equipping of Oman Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

“Licensed and registered companies in the Emirate of Dubai desirous to participate in the tender shall be notified and will (also) be announced on e-tendering system of the Tender Board.” The ministry had already given the contract for the first phase to Innovation Factory for Scientific Research and Development Company.

The first phase of the project includes services related to preliminary design, development, production and supervision of the content of the pavilion.

While the second phase includes supervision of the construction, furnishing and equipping the pavilion, and then decommissioning, removal and disposal of the materials and the waste, in addition to the full management of the project.

The sultanate will participate in the important international event alongside regional and international organisations from 190 countries. It will be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021. Oman had revealed the design of its pavilion in November last year.

Located in Expo’s Mobility district, the pavilion is designed to resemble a frankincense tree.
It will feature five zones, illuminating how frankincense contributed to Omani advancements in transportation, knowledge, manufacturing, sustainability and exploration.
