Manama: Four major health and development projects under construction across Bahrain are to be fast-tracked.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa gave directions to complete the medical hubs which will ensure citizens quality healthcare.

He gave instructions to ensure that the Awali-based Mohammed bin Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Hospital provides patients with all medical and therapeutic services.

He also ordered the fast completion of technical aspects of the Khalifa Town health project for bids to be invited.

The Premier gave directives to start the Muharraq medical district – which includes an elderly care centre, a hospital specialised in treating sclerosis, a maternity hospital and car park.

He was briefed on progress of the Saada West project. The Premier directed to prepare for the second phase of the mixed-use waterfront development that provides retail and hospitality services.

The Premier was also briefed on the progress of work on Muharraq Central Market, which is nearing completion.

This came as he received Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf and other senior officials.

The Premier stressed the importance of fast-tracking development projects in line with the government’s strategy.

He stressed keenness on following up the progress of work on housing, health, educational, infrastructure and roads projects to ensure high-quality standards are respected.

He urged ministers and officials to inspect worksites and meet citizens to hear their feedback on the projects.

“Serving citizens will always be our ultimate goal,” he said.
