Cairo - The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development seeks to export around 32 million tonnes of crude oil, gas, and petroleum and petrochemical products as part of its plan for 2020/2021.
During the current fiscal year, Egypt will export to foreign partners oil, natural gas, and liquids, according to a report issued by the ministry on Sunday.
The plan for 2020/2021 includes programmes and projects focusing on meeting the increasing demands of petroleum products and developing the petroleum and mineral resources sector to contribute to the national income.
The ministry also plans to launch more international tenders, discover new fields, benefit from the existing fields, raise the capacity of refineries and develop them, and transform Egypt into a regional energy hub.
In addition, the plan will work on diversifying energy sources, as 90% of the generated energy comes only from oil and gas.
