UAE - The Enoc Group has extended its Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based technology to fuel terminals two and three of DP World to serve its fleet of vehicles.

The service expansion follows the successful implementation of RFID technology at Terminal 1, that has helped DP World in monitoring diesel fuel consumption, increase operational efficiency and manage scheduled vehicle maintenance.

More than 1,500 vehicles have been installed with RFID across three terminals. The RFID system will reduce fuelling time for DP World's fleet and enhance the efficiency of operations at DP World's container terminals.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, group CEO of Enoc, said: "We strive to provide our partners with innovative technologies that will enhance their operational efficiency."

The integration has enabled a more efficient process for fuel management, as RFID technology has sped up the refuelling process for each truck by 50 per cent and eliminated manual data entry for all fuel transactions by 90 per cent, enhancing the operational efficiency of commercial fleets. The integration has also contributed to improvement in monitoring and consumption control.

Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and managing director of DP World, UAE region, said: "At DP World, we are focused on strengthening the existing supply chain and technology will be the driving force for that. Investing in cutting-edge solutions has been a fundamental part of our growth story, from our semi-autonomous Terminal 3 at Jebel Ali Port to the integration of smart technologies such as blockchain, IoT and cloud computing across our portfolio. Through this, we are creating an intelligent logistics network that will span the Mena region and Indian subcontinent and lead to increases in operational efficiency to the benefit of our customers.

"The implementation of Enoc's RFID technology in fuel terminals 2 and 3 at Jebel Ali Port will serve to enhance their productivity and efficiency and allow us to meet future demand ahead of time."

The RFID system is currently installed at DP World's terminals 1, 2 and 3. The use of RFID has also enabled DP World to gather key data to help them optimise performance - such as distance driven, engine cycles, vehicle utilisation, fuel consumption and other operational statistics. - Wam
