Bahrain's Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani has signed a memorandum of understanding with Israeli Tourism Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen to promote tourism to both countries, said a report.
 
The agreement, signed on December 2 in Jerusalem, calls for the establishment of a bilateral forum to promote mutual tourism, with representatives from both governments and the public sector of each country, BNA reported.
 
During the ceremony, Al-Zayani pointed out that openness with the State of Israel would contribute in the future to a greater revitalisation of the tourism movement between the two countries, in a way that meets aspirations and serves their common interests
 
He stressed Bahrain’s great efforts to upgrade the tourism sector and provide it with the elements that would enhance the kingdom’s standing.
 
“The tourism openness with the State of Israel within the framework of the declaration of support for peace concluded between the two parties will have a great impact on enriching the tourism sector and supporting it between the two countries”, he said.
 
The Israeli minister praised the reputation enjoyed by Bahrain in the field of tourism, stressing that the cooperation of the two countries in this field would open more prospects for joint work, looking forward to cooperation and joint projects in the coming period.
