Muscat: The grace period for expat workers to correct their conditions and leave the country permanently has been extended by another three months until March 31, 2021.

Salem bin Saeed Al Badi, Director General of Labour Welfare at the Ministry of Labour said: "The number of expat workers wishing to correct their conditions and leave the country permanently during the period from 15th November 2020 to 31st December 2020 reached 57,847. 12,378 have left so far."

Speaking to the Oman News Agency (ONA), he further said: "The grace period has been extended by another three months until March 31, 2021. Those wishing to leave permanently should take advantage of the exceptional facilities granted to them before the end of the specified grace period."
