ECZA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) – KSA Chapter, defining the common objectives and areas of strategic cooperation between both organizations. ECZA’s Vision Realization Office will coordinate the joint work and unify strategic efforts with PMI-KSA to achieve the goals outlined in the MoU and initiate the various activities and cooperation frameworks within its purview.

Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Imad Hashem, Vice Secretary-General of ECZA, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with PMI-KSA to build a strong strategic partnership and contribute to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 programs. The signing of this agreement comes within the framework of our constant endeavors to develop an efficient government system that provides an attractive work environment for professionals. This is important to achieving our national goals in supporting the economic cities and special economic zones and enhancing their competitiveness.”

For his part, Eng. Badr Burshaid, President of PMI-KSA, said: “We are proud to join hands with ECZA in a partnership aimed at sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and raising the level and efficiency of projects, to contribute towards achieving the Vision 2030 objectives.”

Dr. Hassan Tayeb, Director of Western and Southern Region at PMI-KSA, explained that partnerships and agreements like these will positively impact the development of national cadres, arming them with knowledge of the best practices in project management.

The agreement aims to build capabilities and competencies in project management among ECZA employees by providing specialized training courses approved by the institute. PMI-KSA will offer technical advice in project management to support ECZA’s strategic programs and projects. The agreement will also enable the transfer and dissemination of knowledge in project management through field visits between project managers in the Kingdom. Moreover, it will devise a system to link project managers in ECZA with professional development channels at both the local and global levels through participation in professional events in the Kingdom and abroad. It will also enable an environment that promotes the project management profession and attract national talent to this field.

It is worth noting that the MoU reflects the keenness of both parties to support and strengthen the strategic partnership between them. The agreement will unify the efforts of both organizations at the professional and economic levels, in line with their policies and future aspirations.
