Strategic Employment Platform to Leverage Federal Investment in Education

Dubai - With companies across the UAE exploring a plethora of avenues to boost their workforces with highly-qualified Emirati talent, this year's 15th annual Careers UAE 2015 - the UAE's leading recruitment, training and education exhibition for UAE nationals - will once again facilitate the successful engagement between public and private sector organisations of all sizes and UAE nationals at all levels of qualification.

Taking place from 28 - 30 April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Careers UAE 2015 is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. With more than 160 exhibitors expected for the annual April fair - including multi-national companies, academic institutions, global industry leading corporations and raft of UAE-based organisations - this year's edition is expected to draw more than 18,000 visitors and prospective job applicants.

With 59% of employers in the UAE are hiring in the next coming 3 months according to a recent survey by Bayt.com, Careers UAE 2015 will play a key role in meeting this demand for a well-educated Emirati workforce across a multitude of industry sectors including aviation, education, energy, engineering, financial services, hospitality, retail and technology.

"Careers UAE 2015 will build on the foundations laid by previous editions to enhance its standing as an essential industry networking and educational platform that provides exclusive opportunities for public and private sectors to connect and engage with UAE National job candidates - whether fresh graduates or seasoned professionals," said His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and CEO, DWTC.

"With the UAE's growing economy, Expo 2020 Dubai, the UAE Vision 2021, there is an increasing need for highly-skilled UAE national professionals across our increasingly diverse economy and competition across the supply chain will only intensify. Careers UAE is committed to creating a lasting legacy for our country's future generations, contributing to the UAE's sustainable development and helping realise the nation's long-term vision."

The UAE government has addressed the UAE national workforce requirements by investing heavily in education. In 2014, AED9.8 billion - or 21 per cent - of the Federal budget was invested in education, of which AED6 billion was spent on improving general education and AED3.8 billion was directed towards academic excellence programmes in local universities. With further investment in education due in coming years as part of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda to develop a first-rate education system, Careers UAE is a strategic cornerstone of delivering highly-qualified Emirati graduates into the national workforce.

Bayt.com, the Middle East's leading job site, will conduct an Employer Seminar to address the most pressing employment issues facing MENA recruiters and executive management, as well as an interactive workshop on personal branding.

Careers UAE 2015 will provide a valuable platform for increased training and career development for Emiratis including a full programme of training sessions, career development workshops and motivational seminars. LinkedIn, the Internet's largest network of global professionals, will offer invaluable insights into the effective use of the portal through its Engagement Training Programme.

With technology a key element in today's working world, Careers UAE has partnered with BigScreen Middle East to offer visitors the chance to record their own innovative, professionally-edited video CVs.

Receiving continued support from organisations, institutions and government bodies, Careers UAE 2015 has a large number of loyal sponsors and partners including DEWA (Platinum Sponsor), National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Nakheel (Gold Sponsors), Commercial Bank of Dubai and Standard Chartered Bank (Silver Sponsors), Bayt.com (Strategic Career Partner), Tanmia, Zayed University, and the UAE University and Higher College of Technology (Partners).
