His Excellency Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri: Leading social initiatives and activities to highlight the values of the founding father 

Abu Dhabi – UAE – In response to the directives of H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE to launch the “National Strategy for the Year of Zayed” and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dafra Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) inaugurated yesterday its strategy for Year of Zayed 2018 during a press conference held at its Abu Dhabi campus in the presence of His Excellency Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, ADU Executive Director of Community Relations and other our senior leaders from Abu Dhabi University as well as media representatives.

The strategy includes various initiatives and activities aiming to commemorate the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father, honor his legacy, promote his values and vision and celebrate the achievements realized in the reign of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

"the University’s is keen to launch the “ADU Year of Zayed Strategy 2018” in response to the directives of H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE to declare 2018 as Year of Zayed. It's a testament to the stature of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the Founding Father of the UAE and his lasting memory in the hearts of our people and millions of people around the world." Salem Al Dhaheri said in his speech on behalf of H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Executive Board.

Bin Harmal added “Our initiatives under the umbrella of the ‘ADU Year of Zayed Strategy 2018 aim to instill the values of the late Sheikh Zayed across the ADU community and nationwide. At the heart of its spectacular achievements that allowed the country to assume a position of preeminence regionally and internationally lies the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed. We are proud of the university’s success story and the milestones it achieved positioning it as a leading internationally recognized university known for quality higher education and enjoying prestigious international academic accreditations. ADU has succeeded in achieving its goals for Year of Giving through implementing 60 social initiatives which further strengthened its position in the local community.”

For his part, Salem Al Dhaheri said "The agenda of ADU’s Year of Zayed 2018 Strategy would cover diverse social and cultural areas reflecting ADU’s commitment to the nationwide initiative.

Salem Al Dhaheri elaborated on the agenda, pointing out that: “The agenda starts with the launch of Sheikh Zayed Awards for Community Service, organization of the Sheikh Zayed walkathon, as well as hosting people of determination at ADU.

He added: “Moving forward, the month of May will witness the commemoration of the 100-year anniversary of the birth of our founding father.  Moreover, the various initiatives will include “Because Zayed taught us” campaign, “workers Can Speak” English Training, “We Read for Them” initiative, training programs for Special Needs and Zayed Social Responsibility Event.

He concluded: “Zayed strategy campaign will conclude in December with our Year of Zayed themed national day celebrations.“
