flynas, a Saudi national air carrier and a leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, has celebrated the debut of its new direct route connecting Riyadh and the Ukrainian capital Kiev, in presence of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. Vadym Vakhrushev ,and flynas CEO Mr. Bandar Almuhanna  and VP of Commercial at Riyadh Airports Company Mr. Abdulaziz Alasaker, in addition to a delegation of representatives from the Saudi Tourism Authority and Riyadh Airports Company.

The new route was launched in line with flynas’ expansion strategy aiming to add a series of new global destinations as part of its direct flight offerings, ultimately supporting the targets of the Saudi Vision 2030 in augmenting the air travel and tourism sectors to become key contributors in transforming the Kingdom into an attractive economic global hub.

The new destination launch was preceded by the dropping of visa requirements for Saudi citizens entering Ukraine. It is also set to encourage Ukrainian citizens in visiting Saudi Arabia and exploring its unique culture, heritage, and natural attractions, especially as they are among the list of citizens from countries allowed to enter the Kingdom with a tourist visa.

On this occasion, CEO at flynas Mr. Bander Almohanna remarked: “We are delighted to offer this new direct route to the Ukrainian capital Kiev, and look forward to strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine by acting as a gateway for citizens interested in learning more about the two countries.” He concluded by stating that flights between the two capitals will be offered by the airline on a daily basis.

With this new milestone, flynas reiterates its commitment towards offering new international routes during the summer season in response to the growing needs of guests, in addition to developing more varied services on par with the highest sanitation and safety standards. The airline had recently announced adding 12 new seasonal destinations to its list of numerous year-round routes, namely Salzburg, Kiev, Tashkent, Tirana, Hurghada, Seychelles, Vienna, Sarajevo, Baku, Tbilisi, Batumi, and Sharm El Sheikh.
