Dubai: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, revealed a remarkable progress in its summer campaign 'Set and Save 24°C’, which it launched in June 2021 for a period of three months with the aim of encouraging the country's population in general and Empower's 140,000 customers in particular, to focus on the optimal use and rationalization of energy, especially during the summer period, where the power consumption for cooling is at its peak. The Company commended customer’s positive interaction with the campaign to achieve energy savings and reduce the consumption bills, stressing that customers play a vital role towards the adoption of sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices, as well as the consolidation of the green economy concepts.

In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Empower seeks to implement the planned sustainable developments that aim to reduce electricity and water consumption by 30%, and to make the Emirate a global hub for green economy and the city with the lowest carbon footprint worldwide by 2050.

Empower explained that the campaign provided customers with 8 valuable tips to help them achieve the desired goals and to ensure their comfort and happiness by providing the best, most efficient and sustainable cooling service.

According to the figures released at the beginning of this year, Empower has successfully recorded power savings amounting to more than 1,312 megawatts of electricity, worth value of 3.4 billion dirhams in 2020.
