The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) started the implementation of the traffic development project at the Interchange leading to Mafraq Hospital on E11 road with a cost of AED 17 million. The project has been implemented in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Health and other stakeholders.

The development project that will facilitate the traffic in the areas around Mafraq Hospital and Bani Yas east includes implementing two ramps intersections designed according to the Diverging Diamond Interchange concept. The project includes an expansion of a surface slope coming from Abu Dhabi to Mafraq Hospital by implementing a traffic signal surface intersection.

The project is proposed to be completed by February 2020 and will result in smoothing the traffic flow in the area.

The project follows ITC’s vision that aims to instil an integrated and sustainable transport sector for a better life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. That is in addition to its efforts dedicated to implement the Surface Transport Master Plan in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The development project will increase the capacity of the roads, enhance the levels of safety and facilitate the traffic in the area around the hospital, as the travel time will be reduced.

It is worth to mention that Musanada strives to deliver the project without disrupting the traffic by following the best safety and environment sustainability practices.
